Reptile Garden, owned by Bjorn Unger, is a reptile display park showcasing over
35 species of reptiles. Our aim is educate the public about the fascinating
world of reptiles and how best to live with them in nature and in our gardens.
Reptile Garden is a fantastic way for both adults and children to not only learn,
but view both indigenous and exotic reptiles in a safe, well looked after and
aesthetically appealing environment.
For the reptile keeper, we assist current and first time reptile owners with the correct knowledge and support in looking after their pet. We also have a specialist shop that sells reptiles and all related hardware and food supplies.
A great new addition to things to do in Cape Town.
Reptile Garden is a wonderful place to make the most of your Stodels experience and turn
your day outing into an adventure by introducing yourselves and children to the
unknown world of reptiles. Parents can enjoy a good meal at the Stodels
restaurant, and attend to some shopping for the garden, while the kids enjoy activities at the play park,
train rides, petting zoo, pet
shop and Reptile Garden.
With most of the popular reptiles we are likely to encounter and find so fascinating, such as the Puff Adder, Cape Cobra, Black and Green Mamba and the docile Boomslang. In addition some exotic snakes such as Rattle snake, Tree Viper, Gaboon Viper and exotic pythons, Ball Pythons, a popular pet and a very rare Madagascan Ground Boa, as well as the oh-so adorable chameleons and geckos.
You can also show off by having a picture taken with a reptile and meet our local star and mascot, the Rock Monitor, Draco.
All our specimens are captive bred and housed with meticulous attention to their good health, hygiene and comfort. Our pets enjoy an air conditioned environment that circulates through the cages, in addition to each cage having its own temperature control.
Entrance fee is R25 per person and children under 3 are free. Don’t forget to take a memory with you and have your picture taken with a reptile for R20.
We are open daily 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, except on Mondays where the times are 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Outbound shows can be arranged well in advance for schools, birthday parties and other special occasions. Our shows are fun and factual covering some of Africa's deadliest snakes. Visitors are able to interact with the harmless reptiles.
We have public reptile feeding on Sundays at Reptile Garden at 12pm included in the entrance fee.
We also have a specialist reptile shop for all your reptile needs. We offer legally captive bred reptiles/snakes and related products, all your heating, handling and feed requirements will be covered as well as livestock sales.
